The foundation of ECHO’s programs starts with our Learn to Play and Mite Limited Travel programs.
These programs offer a fun, skill based introduction to the sport and develop our
skaters in their preparation to travel hockey.
For those who are not looking for the commitment of travel hockey ECHO offers an In-House program for skaters of all ages.
ECHO offers full travel hockey for the Mite, Squirt, Pee Wee and Bantam age groups.
ECHO’s travel teams are USA Hockey sanctioned and participate in the Connecticut Hockey Conference
in tiers 2, 3 and 4. All tier placements are based upon a full team talent evaluation.
ECHO has a target roster size of 10-13 skaters and 1-2 goalies. Manageable roster sizes allow for
maximum player development in games and practices.
ECHO’s uniform features a personalized jersey with matching socks and pant shells which provide our players
with a professional look as they take the ice.
Whether you are looking to continue your hockey career at the high school level, prep level
collegiate level ECHO offers a program for everyone.

ECHO focuses on skills development using a station based approach to practices. Each team is allotted two on ice practice sessions per week.
80% of practice time is spent on skills stations with an emphasis on maximizing player repetitions and puck touches.
To supplement and reward the practice development each team will play 35-50 games per season. ECHO teams traditionally participate
in 1-2 competitive tournaments per season.
ECHO runs in-season skills clinics for each age level. There clinics are based upon USA Hockey’s American Development Model(ADM)
These station based clinics focus on skill development and competition.
Power skating development is offered as part of the in-season practice regimen. The power skating sessions are led by a paid
professional skating instructor and incorporated into the regular practice schedule.
ECHO has partnered with CT Crease to provide and implement a goalie development curriculum.
CT Crease attends team practices and gives individual training to each goalie in the organization.
In addition CT Crease offers goalie clinics over the course of the season that offer training in a group session.
ECHO knows that better athletes make better hockey players. ECHO offers an off-ice training program during the entire season.
The program is led by a paid professional trainer with a focus on the development of each player’s core strength, agility,
endurance and athleticism.
Player development is continually monitored with mid-season and year end development assessments.
To supplement development needs in the off season ECHO offers “ECHO Rising Stars”
Summer Camp. This camp offers 8 weeks of on-ice and off-ice development.
ECHO’s coaching staff is comprised of 100% volunteers. Every coach is USA Hockey certified
and committed to continue their coaching education throughout their entire coaching career in
the organization. ECHO’s coaches are both non-parent and parent volunteers.
Team coaches are not named or determined until after the team rosters have been determined.
